The M74 motorway is a major road in Scotland. The motorway runs from Glasgow thirty-three miles south east, where it is arbitrarily renamed the A74(M). This road continues to Gretna, on the English border.

Heading out of Glasgow, the M74 heads up the Clyde Valley past Hamilton, Motherwell and Lanark. The A74(M) then passes Moffat and Lockerbie, and nearly connects with the M6 motorway.
