The manga details his time in Japan, including getting acceptance from his class (they are older than he is) and in particular from Asuna, who isn't very kind to him to start with. As is becoming a feature of Ken Akamatsu Manga, the girls in it often find themselves in situations where their clothing is not there or their underwear is showing. In Magister Negi Magi this is due to Negi's magic accidentally causing this (for example when he sneezes on a train and all the skirts of the girls on the train suddenly fly up revealing their panties).
