Majid Majidi (مجید مجیدی in Persian) is an Iranian film producer, director and screenwriter.

As of 2004, he has been the only Iranian director who has been nominated for an Academy Award with the film Children of Heaven in 1999 by the U.S. Academy for 71th Annual Academy Award (Oscar) for best foreign language film. He lost the award to Chinese film Hidden Dragon and Crouching Tiger from Ang Lee.

Majidi has two other movies after Children of Heaven: The Color of Paradise (2000) and Baran (2001). He is now attempting to make a documentary movie about Afghan refuges in Iran.
