Alexandra Marinina, Russian best-seller detective stories writer, her novels have been translated into many foreign languages

Real  name - Alekseeva Marina Anatolevna) was born in 1957, till 1971 lived in Leningrad, since 1971 - in Moscow. 
In 1979 had finished a faculty of law of the Moscow State University , lated she had received a rank of the lieutenant of militia. She was engaged in studying of the person of the criminal with anomalies of mentality, and also the criminal who has made repeated violent crimes. In February, 1998 she left in resignation in a rank of the lieutenant colonel of militia.

In 1991 together with her colleague Alexander Gorky she wrote the detective story which has been published in magazine " Militia "Coincidence of circumstances" where her constant heroine Anastasia Kamenskaya has been written in December 1992

In 1995 Marinina got the prize of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the best product about work of the Russian militia (for books " Death for the sake of death " and " Game on an another's field ")

In 1998 on Moscow international book fair she was recognized as " the Writer of year " as the author which books in 1997 have been sold most.

In 1998. A.Marinina became the winner of the premium of magazine " Ogonyok " in a nomination " Success of year ".

Within last three years books by Aleksandra Marinina have been published more than in 20 languages.

A television series "Kamenskaya" based on Marinina's eight novels was shown on national Russian TV, and also in Latvia, Ukraine, Germany, France.
