Stand for distributing Metropolis Daily, it is closed because all copies were taken.

'\'Metropolis Daily'' (ch: 都市日報) is the Hong Kong edition of Metro (Metro International publishes free newspapers around the world with 25 editions in 16 countries in 14 languages). The Hong Kong version was first launched on April 15, 2002; it is distributed for free in racks located in 49 Mass Transit Railway (MTR) stations except the Airport Station (Mass Transit Railway is one of the largest railway network in Hong Kong)/ metro stations.

According to the Hong Kong Audit Bureau of Circulations in September 2002, the daily circulation of the newspaper was 302,197 copies, making it the third largest daily newspaper in Hong Kong. The paper is distributed from Monday to Friday (except for public holidays), by hand and from racks in 49 MTR stations and 11 other key central locations (such as some big shopping malls). Since it is free of charge, so many people would like to get one. The operation costs of the newspaper are mainly derived from classified advertisements in the newspaper. Since this paper is free and convenient to get, it attracts the younger generation. As this generation has a high purchasing power, therefore many advertisers are interested in being its clients.

The paper is in Chinese and includes an English international section. According to Metropolis, the paper can be read in a "19 minutes commute" (the articles inside are short, so people can read through a piece of news quickly to get a brief understanding on what is going on). Although the paper is a tabloid (A newspaper of small format giving the news in a condensed form), it includes many sections, which make the paper very rich in content. These sections include:

  • local news
  • mainland news
  • international news
  • finance
  • sports
  • entertainment
  • side stories
  • English news digest
  • editorial column
  • television program schedule
  • film section
