Mick Goodrick is a jazz guitarist.

He has taught Pat Metheny, John Scofield and Wolfgang Muthspiel. He is considered the father of the "Boston Sound" of jazz guitar, best exemplified in the playing of John Abercrombie, John Scofield, Bill Frisell, Mike Stern and Pat Metheny. His book, The Advancing Guitarist is a manual serious guitarists of all styles. He is the author of a series of books addressing the intricacies of harmonic voice-leading, the final volume of which will be released in 2004.
