In the Cabinet of Canada, The Minister of Fisheries and Oceans is responsible for supervising the fishing industry and administrating all navigable waterways in the country. They are the head of the federal government's Department of Fisheries and Oceans, or DFO.

Noted fisheries ministers of the past have included Roméo LeBlanc, John Crosbie and Brian Tobin.
