Mythica is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) scheduled for release in 2004. It is being developed and published by Microsoft Game Studios (MGS) for Windows-running PCs.
Since Mythica is still under development, aspects of the game will likely change, but there are a few basic things known. To play, one will need to pay for the game software and a monthly fee. The game will feature a rich 3D environment based on Norse mythology. Multiple instances of the world are expected to exist on various servers. This game is scheduled to release in 2004, and is not in beta yet.
In December 2003, Microsoft was sued for trademark infringement and unfair competition by Mythic Entertainment, the developers of the MMORPG Dark Age of Camelot. The results of this litigation is sitll pending.
