Also known as 'Nashik' - a moderately sized, fast growing city north of Mumbai in the state of Maharashtra, India. Historically the city has is a reputed religious center - it is one of the four cities in India that hosts the massive Kumbh Mela. It is also the base from which people can visit Trimbakeshwar (one of the twelve Jyotirlingas) and Shirdi (home to the late Sai Baba - revered by Hindus and Muslims alike).

Recent industrial growth has brought about modernization and development. The city is home to an important thermal power plant and a National Treasury Printing Press.
