Natasa Mićić, nee Jovanović, was born on November 8th 1965 in Uzice, western Serbia. After career as a lawyer, she was elected president of parliament of Serbia on December 6th 2001. After the mandate of Milan Milutinović as the president of Serbia expired, she became acting president of Serbia on December 30th 2002. After the assassination of Zoran Djindjic she declared a state of emergency immediately following the shooting.
