The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is the ruling coalition in India. It is led by the BJP.

On December 20, 2003, the DMK pulled out of the NDA. On January 12, 2004, the PMK also pulled out of the NDA thus joining the DMK and the MDMK. These parties are set to form a "progressive front" in Tamil Nadu.
