Nelson Shin (1942-1997)

Korean-born founder and president of Akom Production Co., Ltd. In the seventies, Shin worked as an animator at the DePatie-Freleng studio, where he worked on the "Pink Panther" films. He founded Akom in 1985, located in Seoul, South Korea. Much of the animation Shin's studio produced has been for American television. Some of Akom's credits are: "The Simpsons", "X-Men" and "Invasion America". Shin died of food poisoning in 1997, and is survived by his wife and son.
