She was a member of London Borough of Haringey council, and was leader of the London Planning Advisory Committee. She was Deputy Mayor of London until June 2003 [1], when Cllr Jenny Jones (Green) was appointed to succeed her. Although she was selected as the official candidate for the 2004 elections, she stepped aside when Ken Livingstone was readmitted to the party. This article is a stub.
