Ocean Bluff and Brant Rock are villages located in the town of Marshfield in Plymouth County, Massachusetts. As of the 2000 census, the villages had a total population of 5,100.

Geography

Ocean Bluff-Brant Rock is located at 42°6'6" North, 70°39'39" West (42.101561, -70.660787)1.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the villages have a total area of 11.3 km² (4.4 mi²). 5.3 km² (2.0 mi²) of them is land and 6.0 km² (2.3 mi²) of them is water. The total area is 53.09% water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 5,100 people, 2,004 households, and 1,320 families residing in the villages. The population density is 960.5/km² (2,489.5/mi²). There are 2,657 housing units at an average density of 500.4/km² (1,297.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the villages is 98.35% White, 0.29% African American, 0.08% Native American, 0.29% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.29% from other races, and 0.69% from two or more races. 0.53% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 2,004 households out of which 32.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.2% are married couples living together, 13.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 34.1% are non-families. 26.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 8.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.54 and the average family size is 3.14.
