This article is about the piece of music by Stravinsky. For the play by Sophocles, see Oedipus the King

Oedipus Rex is a piece of music by Igor Stravinsky, sometimes performed on stage as an opera and sometimes in the concert hall as an oratorio. It was written in 1927.

The libretto was originally written by Jean Cocteau in French and then translated by Abbe Jean Danielou into Latin. Stravinsky's music is an example of neo-classicism.
