During the Cold War, Operation Claret was a long-running series of raids conducted on the island of Borneo by the British Special Air Service starting in June, 1964.

These patrols, very highly classified at the time, involved the SAS crossing the border from the Malaysian state of Sarawak into Indonesia. The teams went up to ten kilometers into Kalimantan to detect Indonesian-supported insurgents about to enter Sarawak.

Conventional local or British troops were then directed into position to ambush the invaders.
