Osip Brik (January 16, 1888 - February 22, 1945) was one of the most important members of the "Russian formalists" school. Osip was one of the co-founders of the magazine LEF (Levogo front skustvo—Leftist front of the arts) also an official publication for the group with the same name and a platform to russian constructivist art. Later the magazine was renamed as Novi Lef (New Left).

Brik suffered—as well as most of his comrades—the persecution of the regime that went very intolerant with avant-garde artists and thinkers, mainly after Stalin's arousal to power.
