Penketh is a Civil Parish and suburb in the West of Warrington Borough, in the United Kingdom. It is about 2 miles to the West of Warrington town centre.

Penketh was originally part of Prescot parish but became a chapelry and then a separate parish. The area was entirely rural and agricultural until well into the 20th century, though a tannery was established in the 19th century (recently closed and demolished).
The last 50 years has seen the area transformed into a large residential suburb.
The parish has a Parish Council and is a ward of Warrington Borough. It forms part of Warrington South constituency of the United Kingdom Parliament.
The former tannery was the only major industry in Penketh. Fidler's Ferry power station dominates Penketh though it is in Cuerdley parish.
There is a parish church of the Church of England (St Mary's) and there is also a Catholic church (St Joseph's).
The secondary school is Penketh Community High School. There are a number of primary schools.
The oldest building in Penketh is the former Quaker Meeting House (18th Century)
The nearest railway station is at Sankey. Frequent buses link Penketh with Warrington bus station and with Widnes and Runcorn. Penketh is on the A562 road linking Warrington with the Runcorn Bridge. The nearest airport is Liverpool.History
