Sir Peter Mansfield, (born October 9, 1933), is a British physicist who was awarded the 2003 Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine for his discoveries concerning magnetic resonance imaging. He graduated at Queen Mary College, London with a BSc in 1959 and a PhD in 1962.

He has worked in the Department of Physics at Nottingham University since 1964.
