Peter Visclosky (born August 13 1949), American politician, has been a Democratic member of the United States House of Representatives since 1985, representing the 1st District of Indiana. He was born in Gary, Indiana, was educated at Indiana University Northwest in Gary, Indiana, the University of Notre Dame and Georgetown University in Washington, D.C, and was a lawyer and staff member of the United States House of Representatives before entering the House.
