Plover is a town located in Portage County, Wisconsin. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 2,415.

United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 113.0 km² (43.6 mi²). 109.5 km² (42.3 mi²) of it is land and 3.5 km² (1.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 3.07% water.

census of 2000, there are 2,415 people, 861 households, and 699 families residing in the town. The population density is 22.0/km² (57.1/mi²). There are 916 housing units at an average density of 8.4 persons/km² (21.7 persons/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 96.98% White, 0.25% African American, 0.25% Native American, 1.86% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.08% from other races, and 0.58% from two or more races. 0.54% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race. There are 861 households out of which 40.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 74.3% are married couples living together, 4.8% have a woman whose husband does not live with her, and 18.7% are non-families. 14.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 3.7% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.80 and the average family size is 3.12.
