Sociedad Deportiva Ponferradina are a Spanish football team from Ponferrada in Castilla y León. Founded on June 7 1922, they currently play in the Segunda División B group 1.

They play in blue and white striped shirts and blue shorts. Home stadium is the El Toralin (replacing the Fuentesnuevas) that seats 6,123 spectators. This stadium was inaugurated on September 5 2000 with a friendly match against Celta de Vigo.

Deportiva have ever been a modest side, mainly playing in the lower reaches of the Spanish football leagues. The team has been in the Segunda B division a total of eleven seasons in its history. The highest ever position attained was fourth in the Segunda B in the 1987-88 season. Best performance in the Copa del Rey was getting to the fourth round in the same year. The team has been champion of the Tercera three times in its history.
