Porky's is a 1982 movie and one of the most popular of the sex comedy films of the 1980s. Originally filmed in Canada (although released by Twentieth (20th) Century Fox), it was the highest-grossing movie from Canada until the end of the 20th century, spawning two sequels (1983 and 1985, respectively) of its own and many imitators of the 1980's teen-aimed sexploitation comedy genre.

Critically lambasted for its portrayals of misogyny, these films have nonetheless been popular with teenage viewing audiences (especially since their releases on home video) for its explicit sexual situations.

The first film's director, Bob Clark, directed its first sequel, as well A Christmas Story (also 1983), while James Komack directed the third and last film.

In 2002, radio shock jock Howard Stern's production company acquired the remake rights to the film.
