Lynise Walters better known as Queen Pen is the first female rapper to publicly identify herself as a lesbian. She is a native New Yorker and became a single mother at 16.

Walters' music career started with help from music producer and member of the R&B group Blackstreet Teddy Riley in the mid 1990s. She was a featured rapper, along with Dr. Dre, on Blackstreet's massive 1996 hit, "No Diggity". Queen Pen says "She had her up's and down's with men in the past",including RL lead singer of the R&B group Next. Queen Pen is now happy with her sexuality and hopes other rappers could come out and be happy and accept who they really are.
