Joaquín Salvador Lavado, better known by his pen name Quino, is a Argentine cartoonist born on July 7, 1932. His comic strip Mafalda (1964 - 1973) is very popular in Latin America and many parts of Europe.
In 1982, Quino was chosen Cartoonist of the Year by fellow cartoonist around the world and he chaired the jury of the International Exhibition of Humor in Montreal, Canada.
