A response is the result of a stimulus.

In telecommunication, the term response has the following meanings:

1. A reply to a query.

2. In data transmission, the content of the control field of a response frame advising the primary station concerning the processing by the secondary station of one or more command frames.

3. The effect of an active or passive device upon an input signal.
