Robbins is a city located in Moore County, North Carolina. As of the 2000 census, the city had a total population of 1,195.

Robbins is the home town of North Carolina senator John Edwards.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 3.3 km² (1.3 mi²). 3.3 km² (1.3 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

Demographics

As of the census of 2000, there are 1,195 people, 423 households, and 286 families residing in the city. The population density is 360.5/km² (935.1/mi²). There are 471 housing units at an average density of 142.1/km² (368.6/mi²). The racial makeup of the city is 63.60% White, 2.34% African American, 0.33% Native American, 0.17% Asian, 0.42% Pacific Islander, 32.30% from other races, and 0.84% from two or more races. 48.37% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.

There are 423 households out of which 33.8% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 50.1% are married couples living together, 12.1% have a female householder with no husband present, and 32.2% are non-families. 29.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 16.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.81 and the average family size is 3.45.
