In Polynesian mythology, Rongo ("sound") is the god of song, peace, flora and agriculture, particularly associated with the sweet potato. He is a son of Rangi and Papa and is associated with the rainbow under the name Kahukura. On Easter Island, he is a creator god (see the Rongo Rongo tablets. He lives in Avaiki, and may have built it beneath Mangaia in the Cook Islands.

In Tahiti, Rongo is known as Ro'o (also Ro'o-i-Te-Hiripoi) and is considered a god of health, invoked by those who are ill. He also taught shamans the art of medicine. His father is Atea.
