Two memebers, Darren Hayes and Daniel Jones, wrote and produced all their music. They enjoyed huge commercial success in their home country with I Want You, but their success went global on the back of the all time classic song Truly Madly Deeply. They then went on to enjoy more world wide success with their second album Affirmation, which included their biggest hit in America, I Knew I Loved You. Savage Garden announced their split in 2001 after a world tour. To date Savage Garden have sold well in excess of 20 million albums and 15 million singles. In 2002 lead singer Hayes, released his first solo single Insatiable, a love ballad. However his first solo album Spin did not sell very well in comparison to his previous efforts and had no impact on the lucrative American market. Hayes is currently (December 2003) working on his second solo album which is due for release in early 2004. This article is from Wikipedia.
