A shadowman (also known as a shadow man or shadow person) is a humanoid black shape of unknown origin seen for a short period of time. A potential topic for cryptozoology, shadowmen appear as all-black figures (although sometimes their eyes are red). Typically people will see one at the edge of their field of vision, but once they start looking more intently and centeredly at it, the shadowman will go away. Although the shapes are distorted and seen from different angles, their shape is clearly that of a biped very similar to a human. Like a shadow, they appear to have only two dimensions. Some people theorize that they may be from another dimension and, when passing through our world, have only two of their many dimensions visible to us.
