The Shanghai clique is an informal name for officials in the central government of the People's Republic of China who rose to prominence in the Shanghai city administration under Jiang Zemin and was used somewhat pejoratively to describe Jiang's efforts to promote people associated with Shanghai.

Members include Zhu Rongji and Zeng Qinghong. Five or six of the nine members of the Politburo Standing Committee of the Communist Party of China are considered members of the clique, although the President of the People's Republic of China Hu Jintao and the Premier of the People's Republic of China Wen Jiabao are not.
