Sharon Stone (born March 10, 1958), is an American actress, model, and producer famous for her role in the movie Basic Instinct.

Stone was born in Meadville, Pennsylvania. She made her film debut in Woody Allen's Stardust Memories (1980) and had a speaking part a year later in the horror movie Deadly Blessing (1981).

In the 1980s she played many parts in B-movies such as King Solomon's Mines (1985) and Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold (1987).

She appeared in Total Recall (1990) with Arnold Schwarzenegger, and posed nude for Playboy, at the age of 32. Her role in Basic Instinct (1992) brought her to greater notoriety, and the film became a popular cult movie.

In 1996 she received an Academy Award for Best Actress nomination for her role as Ginger in Martin Scorsese's Casino (1995).

Married three times, in 2003 she filed for divorce from third husband Phil Bronstein, editor of the San Francisco Chronicle.
