Silicon hydroxide is a molecule with the formula Si(OH)4. It is produced from the following chemical reaction:

SiO2 + 2H2O = Si(OH)4

This reaction is performed by passing silicon dioxide over water vapour at temperatures of about 800 degrees Celsius.

This compound is unstable and rapidly polymerises to form Si2O(OH)6, Si3O2(OH)8, Si4O3(OH)10 etc. No official nomenclature yet exists for this homologous series of molecules.
