Srirangam (also Thrivarangam) is a small town in south India adjoining Trichy. It is located in the fertile Kaveri River Delta.

It is famous for its Ranganathar temple. The gopuram of the temple is called the RajaGopuram and is 236 feet tall.

The Ranganathar temple is a major pilgrimage destination for the Hindus especially Vaishnavites.

This the foremost of the 108 divine centers DivyaDesam sung by tamil saints Azhwars and the foremost seat of Ramanuja, who spread Vishistadvaitam (qualified monism) philoshopy/tradition, considered to be one of the cornerstones of hindu philosophy.
