Stuffing is a mixture of vegetables, bread crumbs and other ingredients (meats, herbs, spices, etc.) stuffed inside a whole bird for cooking. It contributes to even cooking and absorbs many of the bird's natural flavors during roasting.

Some stuffing recipes are not physcially stuffed into the meat, but are cooked separately and served more as a side dish. These often incorporate sausage meat, onions etc to replace the flavours that would normally comr from the meat.
