The Superior Dome is the world largest wooden dome. It is based at Northern Michigan University. It opened on September 14, 1991 and has an area of 5.1 acres and the height of a 14 story building.

It was made out of 781 Douglas fir beams and 108.5 miles of fir decking. It has a seating capacity of 8,000 and a total capacity of 16,000.

It is used for sports events.
