Syndrome X is a medical condition that affects a large number of people. It is a combination of high blood pressure, central obesity and difficulty losing weight, high cholesterol, and insulin resistance and/or type II diabetes.

Syndrome X shares many of the same symptoms as polycystic ovarian syndrome.

Syndrome X is not related to the fragile X syndrome, a chromosomal abnormality.
