The Magician's Nephew is a fantasy novel for children by C. S. Lewis. Although not the first to be written, in the internal chronology, it is the first in The Chronicles of Narnia series: in the book, Digory and Polly are sent to another world by Digory's uncle Andrew, who dabbles in magic. They encounter the White Witch, Jadis, and witness Aslan's creation of Narnia, where the remainder of the books take place.
