The Washington Blade is the main gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered newspaper in the Washington, D.C metropolitan area. Originally an independent publication, it has since been picked up by a major publishing house. It is now part of a group of gay-oriented newspapers circulated throughout the United States. It focuses mainly on global and regional political issues concerning GLBT persons.
