Tuba City is located at 36°7'45" North, 111°14'19" West (36.129044, -111.238718)1.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 23.1 km² (8.9 mi²). 23.1 km² (8.9 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 8,225 people, 2,036 households, and 1,675 families residing in the town. The population density is 356.0/km² (921.6/mi²). There are 2,445 housing units at an average density of 105.8/km² (274.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 5.47% White, 0.16% Black or African American, 92.01% Native American, 0.22% Asian, 0.04% Pacific Islander, 0.63% from other races, and 1.47% from two or more races. 2.36% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 2,036 households out of which 52.9% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 49.0% are married couples living together, 26.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 17.7% are non-families. 15.1% of all households are made up of individuals and 2.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 4.00 and the average family size is 4.49.
