Tubalcain is a murky figure from Bible history, who functions as a culture hero who is credited with the invention of blacksmithing and ironworking. His name means "thou wilt be brought of Cain", suggesting he is a descendant of Cain.

He was the son of Lamech by his wife Zillah and the first worker in metal - literally first worker of bronze and iron; Cain's great-great-great-great-grandchild. He appears in Genesis 4:22:

Zillah also gave birth to Tubal Cain, the forger of every cutting instrument of brass and iron. Tubal Cain’s sister was Naamah.
