University of Oklahoma is an institution of higher learning located in Norman, Oklahoma. The university was founded in 1890. It currently enrolls almost 29,000 students, has over 1,900 full-time faculty members, and offers 154 baccalaureate programs, 152 master's programs, 74 doctorates, eight majors at the first professional level, and five graduate certificates.

These programs are contained in nineteen colleges, thirteen of which are on the Norman campus: the College of Architecture, the College of Arts and Sciences, the Michael F. Price College of Business, the College of Continuing Education, the College of Education, the College of Engineering, the College of Fine Arts, the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication, the College of Geosciences, the Graduate College, the Honors College, the College of Law, the College of Liberal Studies. The six colleges headquartered at the OU Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City are: the College of Allied Health, the College of Dentistry, the College of Medicine, the College of Nursing, the College of Pharmacy, and the College of Public Health.

The school's sports teams are called the Sooners. They participate in the NCAA's Division I-A, and in the Big Twelve Conference.
