Main Page | See live article | Alphabetical index Vechta is a Kreis (district) in the southwestern part of Lower Saxony, Germany. Area 813 km², population 128,200 (2001). The district's capital is Vechta. The countryside is generally plain. Only in the very south there is a hill chain close to the town of Damme, called the Dammer Berge. The western shore of the Dümmer lake with its adjoining fens is also part of the district. Towns in the district: Vechta, Dinklage, Lohne, Damme. This article is from Wikipedia.
