In Norse mythology, Vidfinn was the father of Hjuki and Bil. Hjuki and Bil were sent by their father to Byrgir a mead-fountain, to fetch some mead. The god of the moon kidnapped them. They can be seen (along with their cask and pole) on the face of the moon (craters). This story may be the source of the nursery rhyme called Jack and Jill. In variuos sources the name of the moon god vary, Mani, Gevarr, as well as the fate of the children.
