It is the closest station to the Woodlands Art Gallery (a small art gallery featuring regular exhibitions of local artists; the same building was until October 2003 also used to house the local history archives), and is also close to the southern approach to the Blackwall Tunnel, a notorious traffic bottleneck. Nearby bus services include services between Eltham and Greenwich town centre, Stratford and Lewisham (via the Millennium Dome), and the Millennium Dome and Bexleyheath.
