Amman (عمان), the capital of the Kingdom of Jordan, is a very beautiful city of more than 1 million inhabitants.

Amman, or Philadelphia, as it was known in ancient times, was founded on seven hills, like ancient Rome. Now it is a modern city, where Muslims and Christians live together. It is 45 minutes by car from the spot where Jesus was baptized in the River Jordan.

At the heart of the city is the Souk, a colorful Arab market.

Khaled Mardam-Bey, creator of mIRC, was born in this city.
