Band has several meanings:


In radio, a band is a section of radio spectrum.


A band is a strip of material in a loop, used for binding, such as a rubber band.


A band is a group of musicians playing parts of a musical arrangement on different musical instruments. See musical band.

In a similar sense, a band can also refer to a group of people who are bound together by a common cause, especially if it is one not officially sanctioned by authority. eg. 'band' of pirates or brigands, 'band' of rebels, 'robber band'.
