Bruce C. Heezen (1924 - June 21, 1977) was a geologist. He his most famous as being the leader of a team from Columbia University which discovered the Mid-Atlantic Ridge during the 1950s.

He was bron in Vinton, Iowa, and in 1947 received his B.A. from the Iowa State University; in 1952 he received his M.A. from the Columbia University, and in 1957 his Ph.D.

The oceanographic ship U.S.N.S. Bruce C. Heezen was christened in honor of him in 1999.
