The Chicago L is an urban elevated train system in the Chicago area. Unlike similar systems in New York, Boston, and Washington DC, the "L" is mostly elevated. (In New York, however, most of the train lines in Bronx, Brooklyn and Queens are elevated, but the many lines in Manhattan are not.) This makes the Chicago L as the only system in North America to be almost entirely elevated.
There are several lines, all colored:
- Blue
- Red
- Green
- Orange
- Brown
- Purple
- Yellow
