The Counting Crows are rock band that became extremely popular in 1994, following the release of their debut album August and Everything After, which featured the hit song "Mr. Jones." The band was formed by singer Adam Duritz and guitarist David Bryson in San Francisco in 1991.

Their latest disc Hard Candy was released in July 2002. The Counting Crows recently covered an old Joni Mitchell song, "Big Yellow Taxi," for the movie Two Weeks Notice starring Hugh Grant and Sandra Bullock.

Counting Crows lead singer Adam Duritz's vocal style has been compared to Van Morrison. He has recently collaborated with Ryan Adams on his album Gold.
